Macina in Italian simply means millstone or mill. Basically a commonplace everyday object or place, but its importance in the development of Puglia was – and still is – inestimable. Directly below room 2, which today bears this name, there is still the historic oil mill, or frantoio in Italian. Today we no longer press olive oil there, but in summer we enjoy the pleasantly cool temperatures in the ancient caves when we hold olive oil tastings, wine tastings or sometimes a small concert.
From the large all-glass shower, which is adjoined by a room-within-a-room installation for a toilet and bidet, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the courtyard.
Sometimes you just need more room. Like when you travel with your family. In this case “La Macina” can be connected with the neighboring room “La Mendula” by a soundproof door to form a large apartment of over 80 m².
It is not only the rooms that can be connected, but also the two terraces.
