It’s easy to imagine that guests of the estate were once hosted here. An elegant, high-ceilinged room with cross vaulting, directly adjacent to the kitchen of that time. Probably for this reason, the room has a large balcony with an elaborate tuffstone balustrade, from which they had a good view over the olive grove that still surrounds the masseria today.

If you have booked both rooms, you can enter the adjacent room “La Patronale” through the tuffstone portal. This room is otherwise separated by a soundproof door. Very convenient if you have children or are used to separate bedrooms.

In winter, even in Puglia it can get a bit chilly. Today Bambarone La Masseria is equipped with the latest heating technology. But even in the past, people knew how to make life cozy. A so-called “braciere in rame”, a copper kettle, was filled with glowing coals and covered with an openwork hood to provide heating. And these copper vessels have not become obsolete in our house, but are now enjoying a new career as decorative holders for candles.

The old cement tile floor looks surprisingly modern, even though it’s historic. It was uncovered during the renovation, as in the room next door.
