Bambarone La Masseria is a lovingly restored historic farmhouse surrounded by ancient olive groves, offering unique and special accommodation in the beautiful countryside of southern Italy. You can expect a peaceful, rural atmosphere with modern amenities and authentic Italian experiences. Our estate continues to produce a very high quality certified organic olive oil and grows fruit and vegetables for our own use.
We are located in one of the most beautiful areas of Puglia in southern Italy, surrounded by picturesque countryside and a rich cultural heritage with thousands of years of history. We are just a 10 minute drive from the Adriatic coast.

The term Masseria is typical of southern Italy, especially Puglia, and refers to historic, heavily fortified and self-sufficient farms, located outside of towns, which were completely autonomous due to their complex equipment with stables, warehouses, oil mill, wine press, wells, cisterns, bread ovens and even farm churches. The word comes from the Latin massa = estate. The oldest masserie date back to the Middle Ages and a large number of Apulian “fortified farms” were built in the 16th and 17th centuries. The strong fortifications, with high walls, some defence towers, crenellated roofs and large courtyards for the valuable livestock inside the walls, are the result of centuries of threats to this region, which was coveted by Saracens, Normans, Spaniards, Ottomans, Habsburgs and Bourbons and subjected to constant attacks from sea and land.
Bambarone La Masseria is 2.2 km from the centre of Fasano. Our surroundings are completely rural and quiet, we are surrounded by other olive groves and a few country houses.
We offer elegant suites and comfortable rooms of various sizes, each with its own individual design in the context of the historic building. Some rooms can be used as suites through a connecting door.
A total of 20 people can currently stay in our available rooms.
Yes, we welcome families and offer accommodation and activities tailored to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for guests of all ages. Our land covers 3 hectares of ancient olive groves in the middle of an exciting landscape with an ancient river bed, caves and centuries-old dry stone walls. Green meadows, a huge macchia garden and our own vegetable garden invite you to play and explore. The Zoosafari Park in Fasano with its amusement park and wild animal zoo, the stalactite cave in the Castellana Grotte and the Egnazia Aquapark in Capitolo are spectacular highlights in the area for our younger guests.
We currently have 4 rooms with sofa beds that can be converted into a double bed if required. A baby cot can be placed in any of our rooms if required. We are happy to provide this free of charge on request.

As befits a former farm, we are happy to welcome your four-legged family members. Please notify us in advance. We are happy to provide food and water bowls. Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead on the property. Dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room.

For sustainability reasons we ask that you bring your own shoes. We can provide hotel slippers on request.

Absolutely! Bambarone La Masseria is close to many cultural and natural attractions. The towns of Monopoli, Alberobello, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Polignano a Mare and Ostuni are well worth a visit and can all be reached within half an hour by car. The Torre Guaceto nature reserve with its dune beaches, the spectacular stalactite cave of Castellana Grotte and the unique olive groves, some of which are over 1000 years old, are just some of the scenic highlights in the area. Not forgetting the archaeological site of ancient Egnazia, with a museum well worth a visit within cycling distance! A visit to the early medieval cave village in the Parco Rupestre Lama d’Antico in Fasano is also highly recommended (by appointment only).
Other spectacular sights such as the Unesco World Heritage Site of Matera, the baroque pearl of Lecce or the mythical Hohenstaufen castle of Frederick II Castel del Monte are all within easy reach for day trips.

Yes, we are happy to organise bike hire for you, including e-bikes on request. Away from the coast you will find quiet back roads ideal for cycling. We recommend low season for this as it gets too hot in summer.
On request we can organise yoga or pilates classes at the resort (extra charge). We can also organise guided cycling excursions, either relaxed in the plains of the olive groves or sporty and challenging in the hills of the Selva. On the coast there are kite surfing, windsurfing, parasailing and paragliding schools. In Savelletri you can charter boats for snorkelling, diving and fishing. Guided horseback rides on the beach are also available nearby. A 9-hole golf course (Coccaro Golf) and an 18-hole golf course (San Domenico Golf) are nearby.

Our reception is open daily from 9am to 8pm. For guests arriving outside of these hours, we offer a simple self check-in procedure to ensure a smooth arrival at all times. Please let us know your arrival time well in advance!
You can fly into the international airports of Bari and Brindisi. Bari airport is about 60 minutes away by car and Brindisi airport is about 35 minutes away. From both airports there are public transport connections (with a change of train) to Fasano railway station.
Yes, our resort is about 15 minutes walk from Fasano railway station. Fasano is on the main Adriatic railway line and is very well connected to the main lines. You can easily reach Monopoli, Polignano a Mare, Bari, Brindisi, Lecce etc. by train.
There are several car hire companies at both Bari and Brindisi airports. Please book well in advance. You can also hire a car in Fasano.
Yes, for an extra charge we can organise your transfer to the airport or train station. We can also provide a chauffeur service for your other activities on request. Please let us know well in advance.
If you arrive after 20:00 hrs you can use the self check-in facility to check into your room. You will receive a separate email from us with the necessary information such as codes and floor plans. You can upload your ID documents and personal details beforehand using our web concierge, the link will be provided in your booking confirmation.
Your room will be available from 3pm on the day of arrival.
Please vacate your room by 11.00am on the day of departure. We can store your luggage for you on request.
The best time to visit the region is from April to June and September to November. These periods are ideal for excursions and you can still go to the sea. July and August are very hot but ideal for a beach holiday. Puglia offers a wide variety of bathing opportunities all around. In general, Puglia is blessed with an average of 300 days of sunshine a year! This means that even in winter you can sit outside in a cafe in a T-shirt on a sunny day.
